I'm your host and producer, Angel, and this is our 88th episode and a conversation with Nina Niskanen about Finnish witchcraft.
it was really fascinating to learn about finnish spirituality from a native practitioner and the author of the newest book in the pagan portal series about the finnish sea goddess lamo i was amazed to learn that there is an unbroken lineage of worship of these deities for 10 000 years Nina was soothing to speak with as she explained various aspects of Finnish witchcraft, including how saunas are liminal magical spaces from birth to death.
It was also illuminating to speak with a witch outside of the U.S. and bring some welcome perspective to what seems like a trauma bubble of constant news we experience as Americans.
I enjoyed getting to discuss a form of magical practice I knew little about and learn about Finnish mythology.
