Justin MortonGuestTheo StockerHostSo shall we dive straight in? Um, and w- we're gonna talk about excitingly software to start with, I think.

So I think it's im- it's, it's, it's, it's important to understand that when products come to the market, they're normally in what's called a minimum marketable product.

It'll do exactly what they tell you it will do, but they've got every intention of upgrading that.

And I think my chart plotter over there, it's only a little eight, uh, a eight-inch version, but there are features on that now which probably were not, or either just on the, on the design, um, schedule or hadn't been thought of.

And here I am, 10 years or so later, being able to sorta leverage all of this good extra sort of connectivity and other things from it, uh, for that, uh, for, for, for free because it's, um, the software updates are, are free.
Yeah, because the, the, the, the physical object of the plotter is, i- is fixed, but obviously it runs on an operating system, and it's got certain functionality into it which is being developed all of the time.
And actually, if you keep your plotter update, yeah, you get those new releases, a bit like with your, with your phone or your computer-

if, if, uh, you change a, an instrument head, that new head might not be compatible with an older chart plotter.

So by updating all of the software, then generally if it's still supported, and that's the, the thing to look for-

it, it might be discontinued, but if it's still supported, it should still work on any system that has, that is, is supported.
