Jamie Collins says he wants your vote so he can reduce your New Castle County taxes

Now, on the phone is Jamie Collins.

Jamie, uh, and I have been talking the last couple of weeks a little bit.

He wanted to be on the program.

I said sure.

He's the Republican candidate running for the New Castle County Council District 2 seat against longtime Democrat D. Durham.

Grew up in New Castle County.

I think he went to Sallies, if I remember correctly.

Uh, coaches lacrosse and works across a lot of different Delaware projects.

Jamie's on the phone right now.

Jamie, thanks for being on, sir.

Thank you for having me on.

Yeah.

Uh, you're a Sallies guy, right?

Uh, I am, I am.

Uh, a very proud one.

All right.

That...

I just wanted to m-make sure I got my memory, uh, right about that.

So, um, to begin with this, I'd like to ask what needs to be fixed in New Castle County, and what would you do?

Well, to start off, w-what we have is we have a big issue when it comes to overspending and controlling our financial responsibility, which is our budget.

And day in and day out, whenever I talk to somebody, the same concern happens.

Your pro- your taxes continue to go up.

We are at a 17% property tax, and that's not sustainable when we are not incentivizing businesses and utilizing our existing infrastructure to increase revenue.

All right.

Um, how would you incentivize businesses?
