Every minute in the studio matters. In this episode, we're talking about practical ways to make the most of your class time by identifying your priorities, using choreography with intention, planning…
The number one is to consider your priorities.
I like to think about priorities.
going into a season at the start of the semester already sort of having a mapped out plan of the semester.
So maybe for you, you have a curriculum that's given to you, or maybe you drafted up your own curriculum and you divide that into units and kind of prepare ahead of time what each week is going to look like in terms of what types of things you want to work on.
And if you're a teacher who you more so teach pop-up one-off classes, this might look different for you.
But thinking about what is your priority at that time? What do you want to prioritize technically? What do you want to be focusing on artistically? Is there choreography that needs to happen within that class time or is there a separate time for rehearsal? Whatever it is, know your priorities from the get-go at the start of the training season.
And then also reevaluate your priorities day to day.
So class to class, week to week.
If last week you came close to finishing the choreography and there's plenty of time, maybe this week there's a different priority that needs your attention more.
So thinking about that will help prepare you to step into the class and feel on top of your time management.
