Join us for a fascinating and eye-opening conversation with Jane Ollis, medical biochemist, environmental scientist, former NHS Vice Chair, and founder of pioneering neurotechnology company MindSpire…
Jane OllisGuestNashuaHostThank you for the invite.
Jane, how are you doing this evening?

Well, ironically, having built a de-stressing product sitting here, you get quite stressed, don't you? So the irony on me is not missed.
So Jane, I want to open up today's discussion with really how we got here.
You know, we've got the world of information at our fingertips, more information than ever, we're inundated by it.
But so many of us feel more stressed, exhausted and anxious.
So how did we get here?

But I think what we've got really good at is wearables that measure a lot of things.

Who in the room is wearing something that might be tracking information? So I would say nearly half, and that's probably a good summary.

So the things that you might be measuring might be Your sleep scores, your body battery, your recovery rate, maybe your heart rate, maybe heart rate variability.

Is that a known metric you might be following? So what can happen is that you're tracking all of those, but actually what happens when they go the wrong direction? And that itself can be stress-inducing.

And what this all feels to me like, you've got a really advanced car warning system, a really good alarm system, but all that's happening in the car is the lights are blinking.

So it just feels to me like, well, so what? What do I do with this information? I've got all these signals that I'm hearing, but I just don't know what to do with that.
But it's like you've got to be really disciplined
Yes, definitely.
I think that's a really universal problem, I think.
You know, we're feeling we're always talking to each other, drinks after work, all of this stuff, saying, you know, really stressful week, all of this stuff.
Yet we're kind of coasting along, you know.
There's a room here of some really high performers, yet many of us, not just judging from the metrics, are feeling really stressed.
Thank you for the invite.
