And off the first listen, this isn't a typical Rod Wave project that we've been accustomed to, which I also find fascinating, but it is projected to sell roughly 116,000 first week.
And some of my favorite songs, now I've listened to this project probably six times.
It probably took me three listens before I was like, okay, I can actually see where he was going with this.
But Trap Phone, War Wounds and Overrated are probably my top three songs.
And obviously those took a little bit of time.
Trap Phone was the first song on the first list.
And I was like, okay, there's something here, but it's a little bit different.
But back to what I said, if you've been listening to Rod Wave since 2018, 2017, 2019, this is the definition of an artist growing up and becoming way different than when he started.
I agree.
This Rod Wave album has kind of shown the growth of Rod over the years where he went from more heartbreak, sad music to now this is almost like the full circle moment of like, I have made it.
I'm at the top.
I'm able to kind of do whatever I want.
And I think everything that he's doing outside of music is kind of like playing into this.
I know we kind of like hinted at that before, but this one I think takes a little bit more time to kind of like resonate with you.
And Rod is one of the few artists that drops a fuck ton of music on an album, 24 songs.
Any other artists other than Drake, Taylor Swift, Kanye West, and Rod Wave maybe are the only people that can drop 20 songs and people actually give a fuck.
If any other artist in the world drops 24 songs, I'm like, oh, give me a break.
Someone else fucking listen to it.
Give me the top five.
Rod, on the other hand, he has earned the right to allow you to digest a lot of this music.
And he also knows how streaming works.
The more songs you put out, the more hooks that are in the water, and the more hits that you eventually occur.
