I Like Ike

Today's subject, this week's subject, is something I am so excited to share.

And I'll tell you why up front.

This week's programming gives us a reason for hope.

We're going to go back to a not-so-distant reality in politics, the time of Dwight David Eisenhower.

And we're going to be able to see how behind the scenes in some very difficult places, God was moving.

There were people who didn't believe we were going to make it out of the 1950s.

We were all going to get blowed up.

I was under my school desk.

There you go.

That's what I'm talking about.

And then there were people who figured we were going to blow each other up.

This was a very difficult time.

People look at the 1950s and say, a golden era.

Well, it depends on where you lived, depends on your economic situation, and often it depended on the color of your skin.

But there was a guy who became president of the United States who actually was recruited by both parties to run on their ticket.

That's how much they believed he could contribute to our country.

And his name was Dwight David Eisenhower or Ike.

And that's where the campaign button came from.
