The first one that we wanna talk about is, uh, actually it's through the Arthritis Foundation, Karissa, a program for better living.
They call it Walk With Ease, and this is for people who may be a little bit hesitant because they've had some pain or do have s- occasional pain when it comes to walking.
So yeah, the Walk With Ease program is from the Arthritis Foundation, and we meet twice a week.
We'll be meeting at the Big Creek Crossing here in Hays, so it's a great opportunity to get indoors and stay active, even, even though the weather's cooling down.
Um, but yeah, the program will start November 2nd, go through December 16th, so it'll be a great time to, you know, stay active throughout, you know, w- as the holidays approach.
Um, but the Walk With Ease program, we work on just getting more physical activity.
So if you start with 10 minutes and that's too easy for you, you can, you know, keep on walking.
But we wanna make it open and welcome for everyone of all ability levels, so, um, yeah, we start, we start small and we work our way up.
We also warm up and cool down, and, um, we talk about different safety features, s- such as, um, the walking surface and correct walking shoes, strength training, flexibility training, and we'll teach you how to do some of that stuff at home so you can stay active even after the class is over.
Yeah, and it's a great time to actually, you know, connect with others and socialize.
I've heard that you should be able to, when you're walking for exercise, it should be at a pace where you can talk with a partner and, and not be out of breath during that time.
