... as you said, you know, things have changed, I think quite considerably.

I think, uh-

Definitely

... obviously it's, uh, social media probably is, uh, an area where things have changed quite a bit since we last spoke.

Mm.

Mm.

And, uh, I think we, uh, had a few messages where we said, you know, we haven't had our normal interactions because of that platform that we used to do that most of has, uh, has turned into a bit of a quagmire and a cesspit [laughs] now, mate.

We've lost-

... was it, how did you put it? We've lost our town square.

Yeah.

I think that that's definitely one of the things I wrote about recently in MSK Mag, uh, was this idea that for its faults, and it has plenty, so I'm always conscious at this point to not romanticize as if it was perfect or... 'Cause there's some that just the minute that I start even saying that, they s- they laugh at the fact that it was always just a hot mess.

There was no upside to it.

You happen- people like you and Meekings enjoyed, um, getting stuck into both each other and others in there and thinking that there were more productivity going on, but you're, you're full of shit.

And, and, and, and, and look, I disagree with that, but I also think that that is an argument that could be made, and I'm definitely not implying that it was all rosy.

But there was a brief moment in time to me whereby we did democratize opinion in MSK, and that things didn't need to be letters to editor, and they didn't necessarily need to overformalize, or that the only time that you would be thinking about, well, just how should we be loading certain tendons? And are upper limb tendons and lower limb tendons relevantly different in their behaviors, both, you know, physiologically and then anatomically? You didn't necessarily need to then think, "Well, I better do an MSC then," you know? It's like you, you just started to have this, and then the weekend course environment changed from sort of modality-based stuff to the fact that then instead it was that, no, those that are pri- putting clin- clinical reasoning at the pr- the primary are using social media debates and discussions as sort of soft advertising tools to say, "This is a way that we're gonna de-guru the industry." [laughs] And, and, and that for me was the sweet spot.

The fact that it went awry sometimes, and that's the nature of human nature.

But I just think, um, I, I think that that...

I, I always hoped it would evolve.

Instead, I think it's collapsed.

Mm.

Because I think that whilst there's still active social media networks and, and you've pivoted to, to Insta and stuff as anyone else has and stuff and, and the scale is next level and the interactions with the fitness community has its massive upsides.

I think you've done that well.

Mehmet's done that well.

So there's people doing brilliantly, Liz Bailey, and other f-friends of ours, celebrities in this space.
