Our guest today is one of Britain's most recognisable broadcasters. From *Nationwide* and *Breakfast Time* to *Crimewatch* and *Children in Need*, my friend Sue Cook became one of the defining faces of BBC television and famously "Pulled Out" from an Afternoon with Alan Partridge. There hangs a tale.. Before all that, Sue and I shared a very happy time presenting together on *We're Going Places*, so there's plenty to reminisce about, and a few twists and turns in Sue's remarkable life that will keep you listening to the very end.
The Peter Purves Podcast brings you great conversations with the people who shaped Britain's television landscape, hosted by *Doctor Who* and *Blue Peter* legend Peter Purves.
