Matt and Nathaniel return to dissect the 8 teams comprising the Central Division; their additions, and chances ahead of the new season! Playoffs or Bust? Rebuild Perfection? Or All In?! Find it all…
Yes, yeah.
The former Minnesota Wild prospect, Zeve William, has signed an eight-year deal in Vancouver, just over $9 million.
I think 9.3, it was quite a fiddly number, I think.
Yeah, 9.38 million for the next eight years.
William, I think, completed his second year in the NHL at the end of...
Last season with Vancouver, I've got absolutely no...
I think it's a great signing, personally.
I think you see the direction with a lot of these contracts, and we are seeing up and down the league that a lot of teams are investing in younger players now where they can and trying to sign them for as long as possible, as opposed to doing those two, three-year bridge deals, especially with the way that the cap's rising, the way that contracts are rising.
They could well have maybe looked to try and sign Zeev William for... two to three years at four or five million, but you never know what that next contract's going to be if he goes and blows everything out the water.
So I think probably by year three of that deal, I think it'll start to look really, really quite... positive um i think vancouver get one of their you know their bestie prospects uh probably their best prospect in their entire system really um you know locked up long term uh yeah good good for them it's not often that vancouver gets something to you know to smile about so uh let's let's let them have it when they can
Yes, with a new collective bargaining agreement coming in as well, getting rid of the eight-year contracts, I think it's kind of a rush to get that done and over the line.
It's fair price, obviously probably expensive right now, but hopefully come that middle point of the contract, it then becomes a bargain and then it'll even itself out.
Zeev Boyan, definitely a name with a lot of promise attached to it.
Have we quite seen the production...
yet probably not but he's he's still a very very young player and he's on the worst team in the league at the moment so fingers crossed he can drag that team up um along with marco rossi and yeah i think i think it's a top deal it had to be done you can't again trading quinn hughes you've got to then sign the players you get in return.
So,
good work.
Yeah, good job, Vancouver.
Yes, yeah.
