EP. 218 Garden Issues in the Month of August

All right, so we talked a lot about the fertilizer to get our plants stronger because August is that month where it really is peak stress level for them.

There's a lot of intense heat.

There's drought.

This is when the pest population is close to its max.

And then it's also a lot of fungal diseases, which are triggered by humidity.

And so I want to go over a few of these problems and then how to solve them.

Some of them we've discussed, but I think August brings all these to mind.

To me, mostly is if you started these plants from seed, you might have started in February or March.

We still have a couple months left.

But August is the most susceptible for these things.

And I don't want you to fail.

And so it's a reminder of, hey, let's look for these things.

Because think about this.

You started in February or March.

Let's say it's February.

So you got March, April, May, June, July.

We're just getting into August.

So it's been five months.

You've done almost half a year's work.

to get to the point you're at now with your garden, this isn't the time to just say, eh, I'm done.

So we're gonna go through a few things that you could see out there and how to fix it.

All right, so very simple one, one that you'll be able to see would be powdery mildew.

Powdery mildew is like that white, coating on top of the leaves.

And you'll see it a lot on squashes, zucchinis, pumpkins.

Those are all the guys that are going through this month.
