Shaun's been in the business for a long time, and he's certainly someone that I'd say knows his macro and FX.

And yes, we're going to refer to this currency pair with the dollar as the base currency.

That's how it's traded, and that's how me and Shaun are certainly most comfortable, uh, in, uh, in quoting it.

For dollar-cad, we've had a fairly aggressive move higher over the past month and a bit.

So basically, we've moved from one thirty-six to one thirty-nine and a half, so the U.S. dollar has actually strengthened relative to the loonie.

If you look at the, the dollar index, the DXY, um, that's been roughly in a five-point range just below the hundred point, um, or hundred level, uh, really for the past year.

So we're pushing back towards the upper end of that range ceiling from a longer, from a longer-term point of view at the moment.

And it's a similar story, I think, for, for dollar Canada, where, you know, the one thirty-nine, one thirty-nine fifty, um, one thirty-nine and change essentially has been the top of the range, uh, since the start of the year.

The driver of that, I think, I think essentially, uh, Bipan, is, you know, what you've mentioned with regard to developments in, in U.S. interest rates.

We've seen, um, a significant, um, push up in short-term front-end U.S. yields as, uh, markets have repriced the Fed outlook, um, and we've seen a rewidening in U.S., uh, Canada yield differentials in the U.S. dollar's favor, which has been supportive of, um, this U.S. dollar appreciation that we've seen over the past few weeks.

I mean, so it's, it's primarily yields, U.S. yields, that are doing most of the heavy lifting when it co-it comes to directionality for dollar Canada.

I also hear from time to time that, you know, crude prices still do exhibit some degree of, of gravitas when it comes to the currency pair.
