This is a very interesting story that we did last month for the paper.
And this is basically unheard of, that US citizens claim asylum from the USA, and especially coming to Europe.
Normally, it's the other way around.
So people are fleeing all these countries in the Middle East or Africa, and they're getting persecuted for whatever, being gay or political beliefs.
They go to the USA.
The USA is the shining city on the hill.
And then today, the roles have been reversed.
And he, it's a really kind of sad story.
Yeah, so we had a nice coffee in the Bourne area.
She told me her story.
It was really good to meet these people face-to-face as well.
Even a phone call is not quite enough.
So her father is a full-on Trump Republican supporter, and he's been the one driving a lot of the legislative changes in Texas that... that target trans people, you know, stripping them of their protections, kind of throw them to the dogs.
And I mean, the trans issues are something that's really, really divisive.
