Avengers Doomsday Trailer Reaction – Why Marvel is Panicking

Yeah, I didn't like the trailer.

I think, couple points.

I have not been that high on this movie for a while.

I think this trailer for me, I officially downgraded it.

My analogy from Jordan's 98 Bulls to Jordan's Wizards.

It just, and I'll go through the specifics of why.

It has one notable positive, which you kind of alluded to in my mind and everything else.

It feels old, feels tired, feels uninteresting.

And I think that it really stands out to me in contrast to a lot of what else is in the landscape right now.

And so I'm taking all the small hits turned big.

Let's take the backrooms obsession types out of the picture.

Let's just focus on core IP and blockbuster filmmaking.

And this getting released the day after the Odyssey did what it did at the box office, and I had a chance to see that.

This getting released on the heels of the last Spider-Man trailer, which I think you have to compare side by side and listen to the comments because they're very different.

And then pretty soon after the Dune 3 trailer, man, this just feels old.

I don't know how else to tell you.

It just like, it felt like...

I think I felt like my daughter feels when I show her like the magnificent seven and like ET.

And she's like, even if these movies are good, she's like, dad, these don't look that good.

They look old.

And I'm like, that's kind of weirdly how I felt.

I was like the visuals for this felt stuck in a time machine.

And it's like, there's been no progression, no evolution.

And we can get into story stuff and we can get into what was actually in the trailer.

But like, I just was left feeling really empty and, and kind of almost not that I was super high on it, but I felt kind of defeated of like, yeah, no, this really is the end of that, that era of storytelling and, and not in a good way.
