When your spouse is struggling, your presence matters far more than your solutions — simply being there and saying nothing is often the most powerful thing you can do. Leaning into God's Word together…
Early on, I learned that, and I'm still struggling with this, but just my presence alone.
You know, if you love someone that's going through this, just being there with them, that's really all that's needed most of the time.
And where we get in trouble and where in Gail's words, she has told me this before, it's like where we tend to make things worse is when we try to fix, we try to fix.
So just being present, if you don't know what to say, like there's times where I don't know what to say.
And the other thing, and then I'll toss it back to Gail, that we learned, which has been an awesome journey, is that like we grow up and like we know what doctors say.
We've all heard the doctors say, I was hospitalized for pneumonia when I was in high school.
They help us and all these things, but we weren't really sure what God said about this.
