Sean GeivettGuest[gentle music] Over a week on the road now, and riders have settled into new routines.
An entire afternoon can pass in the space of a breath, then a few seconds of difficulty can last an eternity.
It runs on and on, so long that riders can pedal for hours and feel like the mountains at the far end never draw any closer.
We caught our leading women here yesterday, and found ourselves here once again after a short sleep at CP3, this time driving down from the top of the valley against the flow of the race.
Shepherds moved their flocks in the early light, horses grazing and galloping across the green pastures.
Marmots scampered across the grass as well, whistling to one another before diving into their burrows, already carrying the weight that says autumn is close and winter not far behind.
It was a stunning morning, a steady tailwind pushing up the valley, and a growing flow of riders picking their way towards us.
