The percentage of Americans who say parents should marry has climbed back to its 2013 level.
But getting back to the current numbers, when you include the 24% who said marriage is somewhat important, the overall total rises to 63%.
However, 17% said marriage is not too important, and another 19% said marriage was not important at all.
According to Gallup, the increase in those who said marriage was important was driven primarily by Republicans, who said the importance of marriage among parents has risen 22 points since 2020, with independents also seeing a 9% increase.
