I've had conversations with folks about this where it was a predictable dynamic when Senator Leahy left office that we would eventually need to become a little bit less dependent because he just did so many amazing things for the state of Vermont and was able to bring a lot of federal money here.
We may have experienced an acceleration of the need to become a little bit more self-reliant and independent.
