After coaching clients for nearly 20 years... I've realised that getting results has very little to do with finding the perfect programme The biggest lessons have come from watching hundreds of…
So The first point is consistency beats perfection.
The clients that get the best results and have achieved the best, best results, they're not perfect.
They're not living like a monk all the time, but they are 80% on plan.
And it's the same when I look at my own physique and my own development over the last couple of decades, I have made mistakes.
There have been periods where I've eaten too much.
I've gone backwards with my physique.
But when I look at the overall percentage, probably 80% of the time, I've been training consistently, I've been eating well.
If I have had a setback or I've not been eating well for a month or two, i've jumped back on plan very very quickly and i think it's the same with my clients you know when i look at every single client's journey there's never been a client that's been completely smooth sailing there's always some challenges there's always something that happens nobody's journey is perfect and no two people's journeys are the same but one thing that stands the test of time with the results is the consistency the overall average of somebody's decisions Let's say we've got three meals a day over seven days.
That's 21 meals a week.
What is the overall average of those positive decisions? Then we've got to look at it over a month, over three months, six months, 12 months, et cetera, et cetera.
It's the same when it comes to working out.
Let's say somebody's got three sessions per week and they're doing 12 sessions per month.
Are they consistently doing their 12 sessions a month? The clients that get the best results are consistently doing 12 sessions a month, whereas in the ones that are getting good results but not quite as good results, maybe they're doing like 9 to 10 workouts versus the clients that are getting average results, they might be doing 6 out of the 12, so 50%.
And then the clients that are not getting any results, they're not doing any or it's very like hit and miss.
So the consistency piece is probably the number one component, I would say.
