We’re back with another episode of the Perfect Parlay Podcast, and UFC Shanghai is bringing a stacked card to China. This week, we break down the entire UFC Shanghai: Umar Nurmagomedov vs. Song…
Dude, first of all, your lock of the week.
I know-
Fuck.
[laughs]
I know.
[laughs] I know.
We, we have to get through the worst ones first.
That one, that was a tough one.
It's tough because it's not like you called it incorrectly.
It's not like it was wrong, it's just he got caught.
I swear, nine out of 10 times, Jamal Emmers loses that fight and it's Lerone Douglas that wins that fight.
That was just the one time where it went the opposite route.
I think Lerone's problem is that he was overlooking Jamal, and he was like, "I'm gonna go in there.
I'm gonna knock him out." And Jamal was like, "I have a very dangerous opponent in front of me.
I'm gonna stay very cautious."
Mm-hmm.
"I'm gonna wait for my opening, and then I'm gonna try and knock him out." I don't know.
I definitely think that Lerone, he was kinda going wide and like running around a little bit.
A little bit different than I was expecting to see Lerone come at us, but, um, man, if he connected on any of those shots...
I feel like you had a really good point.
You said that some of these power punchers, they just kind of like sit in their stance a little too much, where it's hard for them to really cut off the cage effectively.
And I feel like that was one of the big reasons why Jamal Emmers was having so much success.
Yeah, he wasn't really like looking for the knockout, so he was able to stay light on his feet and circle around.
And you have Lerone, and he's kinda doing the, Attiba, how they just like set and they're ready to just throw.
And then he would circle out, and he would have to go chase, chase his ass down.
