Goff to the Races! Previewing Every Week 2 Game

Lions-Bills is gonna be fireworks.

Um, the Lions, kind of fortunate, I would say, that this is early in the season in Buffalo as opposed to late in the year because there's so much, m- there's, a good regardless 'cause the ability to run the football, but Jared Goff we know indoors is, uh, a, a different act.

And, uh, that's my side of the ball so I'll go first if that's okay.

Lions offense against Bill's defense.

Yeah, let it go.

Um, so the Bill's defense, it was an interesting performance.

There was week one things I like, things I didn't.

One of the areas, things that I thought, like some, some young players, obviously Dion Walker had an amazing game.

I thought Greg Russo was good.

But I think you did see a lot of their vulnerabilities against Houston, who we're gonna get to that offense later on.

Uh, so for my key, I wrote, "Jared Goff hitting inbreakers against this Bill's defense" because going back and watching C.J. Stroud against them, he simply torched them [laughs] on-

Mm-hmm

... digs, posts.

Uh, and I'm l- and I was, it, on inbreakers, C.J. Stroud, who's always very good on inbreakers, 14 for 19 for 173 yards and a touchdown against the Bills.

Going back and watching, I think you hear that and you think, "Okay, Nico Collins probably had like two gigantic posts," but it was kinda everyone.

I went back and watched all of them.

You had Jalen Noel on a dig, it was a blown coverage.

Marlon Crat- Cline, the young tight end, on a crosser.

Um, Butty had a post on Igbonnisoon.

Jerod Wayne had a dig on Benford.

Uh, Xavier Hutchinson cooked D. Alford.

Uh, Maxwell Hairston took his lumps against Dalton Schultz.

So I, it was a team-wide issue, and that's why I bring it up as a key because I don't just think it's like, "Okay, cool, Amon-Ra St. Brown." I really think the Lions and Detroit Goff, who's, or Detroit Goff, Jared Goff, who is phenomenal, probably the best quarterback in the NFL honestly at throwing inbreakers, is primed to take advantage of what I thought was a pretty glaring weakness in this Bill's defense week one.
