Send us Fan Mail Big changes for isolation and respiratory! Do you know what they are?
My intentions are to go through the new SDR and talk about the parts in red.
They are effective October 1st this year.
They also marked out the part where PPS assessments and Medicare Advantage plans must not be submitted to iQIES.
And I think the reason they marked that out in red, they put it in red, so it would get our attention, and then they marked it out, and I think that's because there's changes coming.
There's gonna be hybrid things, and we're gonna have to start sending in our fake five-day MDSs.
Penalties may be applied for submitting false information.
This is on page five.
Two or more staff members can complete items within the same section of the MDS.
When completing Z0400, any staff member who's completed a subset of items within a section should identify the specific items he or she has completed within that section.
All federal and state requirements must be met.
Should state requirements be more stringent, they will supersede the federal requirements for the minimum documentation standard.
It is the responsibility of the provider to be in compliance with both federal and state requirements.
They put that on page five, along with, per the RAI version 1.20.11, MDS non-section S items must be coded according to the CMS item definitions, coding instructions, coding tips, and response actions in this manual.
State or other payer requirements do not replace, modify, or add to the item definitions, coding instructions, coding tips, or response options specified in this manual.
Myers and Stauffer defers all item definitions, coding instructions, coding tips, or response options to the RAI and the state RAI coordinators.
What they're saying is they give documentation requirements, not coding instructions, and they turf all coding instruction questions to the state RAI coordinator.
This is all in the preface of the, the new SDR and wanted to go over that briefly.
