Started out as the typical boy mom goes insane once their son gets engaged, but it's been a decade of marriage and my mother-in-law won't let up.
I could write a book about the things she's said and done to us over the years, but we have a child now, and the paternal instincts in us have taken over and we cannot deal with her tactics anymore, especially as she's starting to do them to our child.
She's a textbook narcissist and can flip any situation into us being villains.
Her favorite move when she's not getting a reaction from us is to passive aggressively post memes on Facebook or Instagram in reference to how she thinks we've wronged her.
It's gotten to the point of us actively trying to move to get some distance to lessen the interactions, but I'm exhausted by it.
I've been living in a constant state of anxiety, waiting for her next reaction and feel like a prisoner in my own city.
