Kentucky Stuns Oklahoma in Norman: 21-13 Win, Turnover Feast, and Vandy Trap Game Preview | The LetterWinner Jarmon and Newton recap Kentucky’s 21-13 win at Oklahoma, improving to 6-1, 4-1 in the…
Jeremy JarmonHostMorgan NewtonHostOne of the things we often talk about in group messages, and folks that watch a lot of ball watch it closely, it's just that script, right? You know, you get to see what's on the script, you get to see what the offensive coordinator and the offensive staff, what their favorite run plays are, pass plays, formations, shifts, and how the defense reacts and responds to those things.
They saw a lot of success, there were multiple in their personnel groupings, had very few wasted plays, and went right down there and scored with great execution in the red zone.
So at that point in the game, it's hard not to think we might run them off the field.
And playing from ahead, you know, we talk about some of the keys to the game, a lot of times when you're on the road, it's important to try to play from the head, try to neutralize the crowd a little bit.
Because, you know, Oklahoma has great support, great fan base, and you don't want them on you from the onset.

That was the first time all year Oklahoma gave up a touchdown on that opponent's opening drive.

So to your point, knowing that going into the game, and you know that Joe Sloan and th- these offensive guys, they're aware of that as well, you know that they had been challenged to go down there on the road and put seven on them on that opening drive, on that defense.

'Cause we now know that them Oklahoma fans weren't lying when they said that they thought that they had an elite defense, a defense with what, what they claim are 14 starters from the State of Oklahoma, guys with a lot of pride, and that Brent Venables defense, it is every bit as good as advertised.

Mikhail Skinner, first start of his career, in the round on a fourth and one, he slips past the defender, 16 yards on that fourth and one.

Three plays later, Kenny Minchey finds Willie Rodriguez for that two-yard touchdown.

And I, I can't imagine, like, getting off to a better start, going to somebody's house.
