#76: Leinster vs Munster - Vodafone Women's Interprovincial Championship Final Review

All right, folks, the Women's Interprovincial Championship has come to an end.

It's come to a fold.

Unfortunately, this time again, it is not how we wanted it to go.

So I suppose the first game of the day was Connacht versus Ulster.

I didn't get that prediction right, actually, so I'm going to take that as the only win, I suppose.

from this weekend.

It ended up Connacht 10, Ulster 29.

And then the main event, the final itself, was Munster 14, Leinster 5.

So yeah, Munster are crowned champions once again, unbeaten across all four rounds, and that is their 17th title.

You know, it's unfortunate really, we have a very poor streak now with Munster.

With only one win and then four consecutive losses against them.

You know, 19 Ireland women's 15 Global Series squad members featured in that decider.

So, you know, you're pretty much seeing the Irish squad playing against each other in that game.

But yeah, let's get into it, I suppose.

Yeah, if you remember, my prediction there was way off once again.

Ah, well, I mean, it was way off because it was the other way around.

But here's one prediction I did get right, and unfortunately was actually the flipped side again.

I did say that if we wanted to beat Munster, I think it was in episode 75, if we wanted to beat Munster, that we'd have to lock down their mall.

And, yeah, I think that's probably where we fell short because the mall question was definitely answered emphatically, really, in Munster's favour.

Both of them were two tries there, you know.

straight off the back of malls you know we tried to answer that by having our own malls and they just really had us locked down so yeah i'm going to take a win there on maybe predicting something and and identifying where exactly you know we needed to to do stuff um and then you know fell short so yeah look as you know try to be positive here and but You know, I think the hardest part about it was that, you know, Govender's side, you know, Leinster, we had multiple visits to the Munster 22, multiple visits to the Munster 5.

But maybe it was the wet conditions, like we just seemed to slip up an awful lot coming into that very last part.

of getting over the line and you know it really killed us and you know coming out of there I think it's nearly a miss to come out of there we only one try scored in all that because we had so many chances to do more and we just we just didn't pull through we didn't finish them you know couldn't make the bed kind of thing so Yeah, not great.

Obviously, Ruud Campbell's injury there, that was at the part of Rob Leinster of our tied five leader as well.

I would have called out Ruud Campbell as one of the main players there that we would have wanted to watch.
