So firstly, let me run you through why it actually matters to have more muscle because it's more than just looking aesthetic and just looking good and just having a body that, you know, maybe on the outside looks fantastic.

And I always try and explain this to people when I speak with them maybe for the first time on a consultation around, look, the only way you're going to be able to stay in shape for the rest of your life is by having more muscle mass.

It's not about being really active and trying to outrun a bad diet all the time.

More muscle is a faster metabolism, okay? Faster metabolism means that it's easier for you to stay in shape longer term because you are gonna burn more calories day to day from having more muscle mass.

When you go to sleep, you burn more calories than most people if you've got more muscle.

It's like literally you don't have to do as much, but you burn my muscle, right? The way I can talk to you about this, guys, is if you're in a relationship at the moment or you've got a partner or you've been married for a long time, think about it like this.

How many more calories can you eat than your partner right now, right? Than your wife, your girlfriend.

They're probably eating, what, like half as much food as what you would normally eat.

One of the biggest influential factors into that is because... you are a bigger person, right? You have more muscle.

And you'll realize that you can eat more food than you think because you are a male.

This is why I believe that every single man, if they want to stay in shape long term, needs to actually go and gain more muscle, whether that's 10, 20, 25 pounds and get to that absolute speed.

If you're naturally quite a big dude, maybe you've got quite a sporty background, you play rugby, you might not have to build as much muscle.
