Niall BoyceHostBea Gómez Pérez-NievasHostI'm a physician scientist and a drug developer with experience across stages of development from early to late.
And I lead the clinical development of prazenezumab, which we'll discuss today.
This is a large phase 2b study in individuals with early stage Parkinson's disease.
And what was very important is that they were being treated with their standard of care symptomatic medication.
We didn't quite make the cutoff of 0.05. We observed highly consistent signals of clinical activity across the primary, secondary endpoints, and some of the exploratory.
We did see also biomarker data supporting a reduced loss of neuromelanin and iron, and this suggests potentially an impact on dopaminergic neuron loss.
So on top of the favorable safety and tolerability profile, this is a molecule that was worth pursuing and we're now taking it in phase three, taking the learnings from this large study ahead.

I'm a neurologist and I specialize in multiple sclerosis and I'm based in East End of London at the Royal London Hospital.

And this is the first trial that's really extended recruitment into people that are wheelchair users.
