Burnout, reinvention, and choosing joy in midlife—Lauren | Joy in Motion creates space for honest connection and gets me to open up like never before.
No entities detected.
But also, you know, coming from a corporate world, do you think success has changed for you a little bit? Like, what does success look like now?
Ooh, that's a good question, and that's a loaded question, right? I think-
Yeah
... something I talk a lot about on my page, too, is, uh, a big identity shift that I'm having right now because I have always identified as, like, a hard worker and somebody who, I wouldn't necessarily say in my profession that I've been driven by success.
I've never wanted to go up the managerial, uh, chain.
Uh, even though I've been-
Yeah
... offered many times, I've always wanted to be a clinician.
But I have very high standards for myself.
Yeah.
And there- have had very high standards for myself both in my personal and professional life.
And I think that I'm starting to reevaluate my definition of success because if the hard, the hard work is changing for me, right? I'm trying to lean into a season, a softer season, where I'm not focusing on my busyness as much.
I'm not trying to pack my day as much.
I'm trying to be more present in my life and focus on the moments of joy.
I think that is now becoming my definition of success is how-
Beautiful
... much am I living, how much am I living my life now instead of how much am I muscling through my life? How much can I-
Yeah
... pack into my to-do list? Because my life had become about my to-do list.
It was the only way I knew how to survive.
Yeah.
And I, I realize now that it's not a way to live.
Like, we have one life, and I don't want my life to be defined by my to-do list.
Yeah.
And I think that in really recognizing by making these deposits of joy into my day, this is how I'm supposed to be living.
