420 - Ricky Williams - 8/5/2026

[upbeat music] Ricky, my dude, it is awesome to see you and get a chance to spend some time and chop it up with you once again, man.

I appreciate you.

How you doing, dude?

I'm great.

Life's good.

Life is good.

Glad to hear it.

Listen, now, I don't know if you're gonna appreciate this as much as I do, but it's no coincidence that I came looking for you right about now because this is episode 420 of the Jim Rome podcast.

420, 420.

So I thought to myself, "Man, I gotta get my dude Ricky on.

I gotta get my dude Ricky on." So Ricky, are you cool with that?

I am.

Yeah, I am.

I, I've had to accept that's, that's a part of my legacy, and I'm making the, making the best at it.

Dude, by the way, I, I mean this positively.

This is a good thing.

In fact, I don't know if this is gonna hit with you, but I wanna share this with you so you can help me through this, if you don't mind.

Can we talk weed for a minute?

Yeah, of course.

Okay.

So when I'm in high school, I'm a total nerd, right? Like, I, I'm all about, like, sports and I'm obsessed with following sports, but I don't drink, I don't smoke.

I'm not partying at all, just nerd, straight nerd.

I get to UC San, Santa Barbara, Rick, and let's just say I start making up for some lost time.

So I'm at the radio station, but I start to experience a few things.

So my first couple of quarters there, I, I'm locked down on radio, but I discover bud, and I like what I discover, right? So I'm all about this life, and I'm, I'm saying to my roommate.
