Just like Akron, Ohio, where she's from, right? She's an American girl from Akron, right?
We talked about this as we got ready to do the podcast, and I've really come up with the summation, if you will, out of all of our research and digging around.
I've come up with the picture in my head that she, using the US to UK connection, pretty much pulled a Hendrix.
She pulled a Jimi in getting from the US over to the UK, got herself integrated into the London scene, wrote and recorded her demos that got her signed and got her to get together one of the bands that would become members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Talking about Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders, and after they broke there and became the talk of the town, so to speak, they came home and took on America.
