What makes someone a great caregiver? Skills can be taught, but compassion, empathy, and the ability to truly care for another person are harder to train. In this episode of The Ill Noise Business…
And how has that transition been from being a caregiver to now being the care manager? I mean, that's a pretty, those are two separate roles altogether.
Yeah.
So I do the care management and then I do some marketing and advertising.
I mean, we kind of just, it's the two of us and we jump in and we help each other.
We, I do what I feel is best to like how I can compliment Shamani and, um, you know, her strengths and then my strengths.
Um, but it's, it's kind of been, I, I do think it's been like a long time coming.
Um, I felt that maybe, um, All my strengths weren't able to be highlighted in a facility setting or a hospital setting.
I also was, you know, just the CNA, not really in administrative work.
So why would my work be highlighted? So I do think it's been a really great opportunity.
I've learned.
I've also, um, I also have a life coach, um, that Chamonix has organized for me to, to have, which has been really nice too.
So that's helped definitely guide me through this, this process.
And, um, you also had provided me those, um, GoPro care.
I mean, it, It helps you with the marketing, advertising.
So lots of support Shamini has given me as well.
So I think that's helped, obviously, tremendously too.
Now, Shamini, what do you think makes your facility different than other facilities that are similar to what you guys do?
So one is both of us, like Carolyn said, we're very involved.
So we know all of our clients.
We know all of their needs.
we like every progress that we make that they make or any change in their conditions we are very aware and caregiver hiring also the same thing we are very involved we make sure that the caregiver even once they get into the client's place that They are comfortable with the client.
The client and the caregiver have a good relationship.
You know, the companionship and the trust is the most important part because it's just not tasks.
So I think where we really intentionally plan our growth is around that.
We don't want to grow too big that we are not able to manage everything.
