All right team, so the thing I want to talk to you about first is this concept of a plan that lives inside your head as a founder.

It kind of leaves everyone else to kind of make stuff up and kind of improvise as they go.

So this is like what I see is the main reason why your team isn't aligned and moving in one direction because they've never actually seen the plan that you've got inside your head.

Well, I hope you've got a clear picture in your head of where your business is going.

So what happens is if you haven't communicated the plan, the growth vision, the business plan, the strategic plan, all those sorts of things to your team, what they do is they fill in the gaps with their own version and everyone makes their best guess about like what matters and what way they're supposed to go.

And so that's how you end up with good people on your team, all working hard, but like all pulling in slightly different directions.

And none of them is actually realizing it because they haven't been unified behind one plan.

And it's not that your team don't care, like they're good people, they're A grade players.

It's just that like no one has ever shown them the destination or the North Star as we kind of call it.

You can have a whole team that are flat out working super hard and still have the business going nowhere in particular.

So all you need to do is if your team feels, I guess, busy, but it feels like the business isn't moving forward in the way that it should be or hitting the goals that you want them to be hitting or moving towards that sort of North Star vision that you have, I want you to ask yourself, have I actually shown them the plan and communicated them the plan, or is it all still just in my head? So the second thing I want to talk to you about is this misalignment that we're kind of covering today is quietly costing you, it's costing you speed, for sure, it's costing you efficiency, but it's costing you money in terms of lost money, lost time, lost profit, and it's costing you good people.
