what a great story I relate so much to a lot of that yeah said there at the end around um flexibility and like I one of the reasons because let's face it being self-employed isn't as easy as probably we both thought it was when we started up like

But for me, the reason I keep doing it is because I don't want to ask permission from anyone to parent.

I said that with such disdain, some bloke, to ask for permission to, like, go to a school play or to do a school pick-up.

Like, just for me, the two seem so incompatible from, like, to be able to parent and work in a balanced way within an employed role feels to me inachievable, unachievable.
And I think the person that I was... who I feel like I'm no longer, but the person that was back in corporate HR, I would have put those long hours and I probably would have.
So I don't know truly if I went back into employment, I don't know what that life would have looked like.
And if I would have truly honored the, you know, being a present parent thing, I don't know how I would have managed if I could have.
Absolutely, but I think I've learnt, I've done a lot of work on addressing my, everything from limiting beliefs and mindsets through to passions, behaviours, you know, and got really a lot better at setting boundaries and saying no.
And look, I think a lot of that stuff, to be honest, It did – whilst we kind of say that they're not the greatest attributes to have, I think it did serve me well in my HR career, right? Like, I did move quickly.
