Parliament is back this week after a two-week recess, and on Wednesday, MPs had their first Members' Day in almost two months.
Members' Days give non-ministerial MPs the chance to propose their own laws— Four members' bills were debated on Wednesday, with three of them being first readings.
But one bill returning from select committee offered a nice vignette into why that stage of Parliament's lawmaking process exists in the first place.
