And then where we are now, 20 films in, how, how much has your budget risen now? And is it, do you, do you make, the films you make at the moment, are they usually at the same budget level, or have you been steadily creeping up with how much you're spending?

Basically, I had a rule that was every time I get a film funded, the budget has to be bigger than before.

Otherwise, I f- I, I feel like if I'm doing that, then I'm always going upwards.

So a- any film I do, I felt it would always be bigger than the last, um, in some way because it would be bigger budget-wise.

Um, but I mean, I have a lot of, I have a lot of opinions and, and things about the budget.

I mean, fir- first of all, I, I won't say specifically the budget of, like, where the films have gotten to now, and I don't think any filmmaker should, just because, um, when I- ... pitch to people who are, you know, I make, um, I've already shot four feature films this year.

You know, when these people come to me to make these films, if they could find a podcast where I give them an, a figure, that ties me to the figure.

So, so I, I did in the early days, I would go round saying, you know, "I made my two grand first film, and then my five grand second film." Um, if they know you can do it for five grand, then they're gonna give you five grand, you know? So, so, so, so no, the budget, the budget did go up.

I mean, as I say, I just, I've just got so many opinions on, on [laughs] budget things.

I mean, a lot of people when I say, you know, my budgets have been under 100 grand, they'll just shrug off the film, you know? "Oh, that's nothing." Well, hey, you know, uh, even 10 grand, even 20 grand is quite a lot of money-

... you know? Um, well, I suppose not for a film but, you know, for a, for l- let's say, like, for a 22-year-old, like I was, you know? Um, and you start to get these budgets that are in the tens of thousands, um, you know, as I say, it's enough to make me a living.

I don't know what everyone else's, um, annual salary is, but you know, if you're making three or four of these in a year, the money does start to add up.

My weakness has always been I put way too much of the money, even now, into the film-
