Well, I think first of all, what I've found now that I've been here for a while and dealt with different people from different countries is Australians aren't used to moving overseas to a different country.

So it's culturally... for americans and europeans it's very natural for them to move to another country even though indonesia is such a long way away it's part of their culture to to live in different countries so i found with aussies the leap is a lot bigger even though it's close by it's only a five hour flight for them culturally it just seems like uncharted territory no friends no family people in their social group haven't made those moves so it is something that's important for you to educate them because they're just not used to doing it culturally is
interesting because you spoke of america you said america before and america has that southern american influence they teach spanish in schools yeah you know there's food the food and the culture celebrated whereas i mean we learned indonesian at at high school and primary school yeah that's where i started back in grade three yeah uh and then but apart from that which isn't really taught much in schools anymore but the the culture of indonesia and the understanding of the different cultural groups it's not i mean indonesia is our closest neighbor it's like it's a stone's throw away from northern territory yeah we don't hear about it learn about it Talk about it.

And as Aussies, we're kind of raised to know that Australia is the only safest place.

And, you know, even us in our family, when we made the move, are you sure? Are you going to be OK? What if you're going to go to the doctor? oh my God, like they're stressing out.

And my son's had to go to the hospital and I've had to go to the hospital and I was fine.

Don't stress, you know? Oh, but what about this? What about that? And I think Aussie's You can't drink the water.

What about brushing your teeth? And Aussies, I think, naturally, we're skeptical.

Where's the problem? Where's the risk? And that's what's made an awesome country because it's so perfect, right? They're always, you know, there's so many laws, rules, whatever.
