329 with David Forbes (Part 2)

Heroes, Council, how are we? Welcome back to another episode of the Hashtag Show.

Stressful day today.

I've been in the studio, believe it or not, since about half past nine, ten o'clock this morning.

It is now ten past two on a Sunday afternoon as I record this and I have just this minute sat down to record because I've been pulling out wires.

and trying to get the studio back in place.

Still not happy, still not 100%, but we're getting there.

We're improving little by little, step by step, incremental months that pass.

I'm getting a little bit better at understanding how it works.

I didn't know what a noise gate was.

Now I know.

We've been playing about with noise gates because I'm still not happy with the audio for the episodes.

I'm still not happy with it.

Every time that I listen back to the episode, I'm just not happy.

I don't know how else to explain it to you other than that.

Other than I wish to fucking God I still had Mal and Mal was still here because the audio would not sound as shit as it does.

So I am aware of the issues with the audio.

I think that... unless i can attend some kind of in-person or online audio engineer course in which i can learn about what a fucking noise gate is and just exactly what a db is as well because i haven't got an absolute fucking scooping to do unless i can do that possibly think I may have to introduce Britney Spears style microphones into the studio especially when there's guests in because the the mic technique on some guests has been has been alarming and maybe that's down to me you know maybe that's down to me being a bit more confident and just saying get the fucking mic inside your mouth that's probably the best way to do it so listen if there's anybody out there who's watching this listening just now and you're going to be a podcast guest you're going to start a podcast your own and I highly suggest you do so my advice is this a microphone is designed to amplify your voice but it can't amplify if it can't hear so take the mic and stick it in your fucking puss And then that way, we'll be able to hear you.

All right? So, I'm going to continue to play about in the studio, and we'll see how that goes.

But I'm stressed out my tights.

We've pulled wires out, put wires back in, in what I thought was the right way, and for some reason, nothing would then switch on.

And for a brief moment, I had a small, mild panic attack, where I thought, I've completely fucked it.

But we're back.

You know, you can hear me, I can hear you.

Everything's fantastic.
