The Hall of Fantasy - "The Steps That Follow Me" (Old Time Radio, 1952)

The Hall of Fantasy presents “The Steps That Follow Me,” originally broadcast September 19, 1952, and cataloged as episode 5 of the series’ 1952 Mutual run. A visiting couple’s exploration of an old mausoleum near a remote Swedish estate unleashes an unnerving pursuit marked by the sound of relentless footsteps. Adapted by writer-producer Richard Thorne from M. R. James’s “Count Magnus,” this eerie tale was directed by Leroy Olliger and features Eloise Kummer. Surviving-recording sources note it may be substantially the same production as the earlier Hall of Fantasy adaptation “He Who Follows Me,” with altered credits. Old Time Retro Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
