And it's that, do all stylists need a niche? So in my social media class, we go through your bio and we talk about everything that your bio needs.
One of them is like a value add statement or like a positioning statement, something like that.
So for example, I need to tell you exactly how I add value to you, right? So how does my podcast add value? My podcast is when someone says, well, what kind of podcast do you have? I have a salon professional podcast.
podcast that allows for beauty professionals to come and ask questions i interview some of the best in the industry and it gives everyone a space in my industry a place to feel safe to ask questions and to get information that's going to actually add value and help make them more money it's not necessarily an opinions podcast it is somewhere where people can actually implement little things in their business and they can see big turnaround.
So I didn't necessarily niche down to one because I service several different stylists, however, because I'm also starting my podcast.
So as my podcast evolves, will I maybe start to move into more of a niche maybe but for right now I have I I usually speak a little bit more wide and I talk to commission stylists and I also speak to independent stylists and um so I I want you to think about that and this is not this was not prepared anything like that so I I want everyone to think about that so that was just straight off the cuff for me and that's actually how I explain my podcast when somebody asks about it so One thing that I want you to keep in mind is that when you think that you have to niche, if you're still building, you don't necessarily have to have an exact niche.
If you are booked and busy and you're like, I have nowhere else to put someone, Heather, I'm working 30 hours a week behind the chair or more.
I raised my prices three months ago and I'm not sure exactly, and I even changed my schedule to my ideal schedule.
