Have you noticed your gymnast sleeping in later this summer and then heading straight to practice after only one meal? Maybe practice starts at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon, or even early afternoon. And…
Christina AndersonHostBut a lot of the summer training schedules that we're seeing with clients right now are in that really awkward kind of between breakfast and lunch.
And so you don't really know what to do with that from a nutrition perspective, right? So maybe gym is 10 to 2 p.m., 9 to 1 p.m.
Whatever it is, it can be really awkward when training is between two meals.
Like, what are you supposed to do with that? And then I think to make it even harder, it's difficult in the summer because your gymnast is usually staying up later and she's sleeping in longer.
And so, you know, in theory, if gym started at 11 or noon during the school year where your gymnast might be awake at 6 in the morning...
That's not that big of a deal to fit in breakfast and a pre-workout lunch.
But when it's the summer and it's lighter later at night and your gymnast is hanging out with friends and they're staying up late and they're sleeping in, they may not get out of bed until maybe 9, 9.30 in the morning before gym starting at 11.
