Sally Orange, MBE, former British Army Major, insurance athlete, multi-world record holder and mental health campaigner, competed in over 80 marathons, eight Ironmans, raced across America, taken on some of the toughest road races and endurance events on the planet, and raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity, which we're going to dig into today.

We're going to talk about the story of depression, resilience, cancer, and an extraordinary determination to keep moving.

So I want to give the guests a little bit of a background of how I got to get in touch with you, if I can.

I explained to you that Graph Podcast was all about a conversation with my son at the start about what are you going to do, son, in life? You know, you are going to have to graft at some stage.

And then fast forward after we'd done a couple of seasons, my daughter needed to do some works experience.

And I said, right, you can have a day with me, but I want you to really kind of focus on really, truly inspirational people that I'd like to get on the podcast.

And I swear to you, today, when we were literally flying home, as I was saying to you, I'd just come back from some work travel, and I said, oh, I'm doing the Sally Orange podcast today.

But let's just give some people context of why from the research that she did that I thought I would leave in.

So you have been awarded an MBE for services to charity and mental health in 2023.

You served 22 years in the British Army, reaching major in the Royal Army Medical Corps and serving operationally in Afghanistan.

You're the only person in the world to run a marathon on every continent dressed as a different piece of fruit.

Completed the marathon disables and raised more than £800,000, which is probably even more than that for 50 plus charities.

I'm not going to struggle for content today, am I? Which is unbelievable to think about trying to get people on and to talk about their world of graph.

But when we spoke in our initial kind of pre-show conversation, we did dig deep very quickly into... all of the elements of graph that you've been through in your life and continuing to go through today, which we will certainly get to because, yes, you're definitely not keeping still, which I'm really excited to hear more about.

But if you can, take us right back to the start of, you know, going into the military, kind of where did that come from and how did it all begin?
