What is good technology? What does it look like? How can we work towards it? Is it possible? What do you think?
Well, so first of all, I love the title The Good Robot because I think a lot of times people with cochlear implants will jokingly say, you know, "I'm a cyborg," or, "I'm a robot." I worked with a young woman who called herself a machine walla, like a machine person.
And I think for me, good technology is technology that enables human flourishing in its widest sense, uh, and allows for a range of flourishing, um, and that includes, um, and also foregrounds human connections with other humans as well as, um, the non-human, the divine, the interworldly, and so on.
And so I see good technology as being something that's expansive, that facilitates interdependence, and that does not result in complex dependencies on a corporation or intellectual property or other types of entity.
