Just in time for Independence Day! SCOTUS has released decisions in two major 2A cases, In US v. Hemani, and Wolford v. Lopex, and agreed to take up an AWB! All that and much more in this episode.
But before we get into the real meat of the episode, we do have a couple things, like a
goal alert.
Yeah, Executive Office of Public Safety has scheduled a public hearing on regulations related to Chapter 135, which I thought was the perfect bill.
We were told it was absolutely bulletproof.
It was
completely clear in its language.
It doesn't need any guidance or anything.
Yeah.
Well, July 7th, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
They love doing this right after holidays when people are busy.
Smack
in
the
middle of the day.
Topics for new regulations include firearms data dashboard, 803-CMR-12.00. the Licensing Authority Training Seminars and Firearms Dealer Online Training Programs, and the Basic Firearms Safety Course Requirements and Firearm Instructor Certification.
Which is a big one for most of the people who will be listening to this.
So, Goal has had a chance to review the proposed regulations and, of course, found a number of problems with them already.
Things are not that consistent with the law as it's passed.
Again, not surprising to anybody.
So things like the definitions of LTC and FID are inconsistent with statute.
They have some basic guidelines instituting live fire training and a qualification.
Qualification that is not required by the statute.
Okay, so it's important that we point that out.
So they call out a target size.
