But no, to close out the chatty sequence today, I've got a lovely human story that was just so sweet and fun that happened a couple weeks ago.
I was passing by a museum that I have a membership to, but...
there was a really long line to get tickets and i was like i actually just want to come in and use the restroom so i went up to the lovely lady at security who was you know supposed to take tickets at the door and i said is there any way i could just go use the bathroom i do have a membership you know it's right here i can prove it um and we had this little exchange where she at first she was very skeptical and she was like well i don't i can't let you in unless you have a ticket and i was like it's just to use the bathroom she was like you know what that's totally fine like we were able to make eye contact and she was really sweet and she believed me But then the really cute magical moment was that I put up my hand and I said, I'll wave at you on my way back out.
Because I was stepping into her headspace of she's working security, she shouldn't be getting into any kind of trouble for letting me in without a ticket.
I'll come back and I will prove to you that I left right away.
I don't want to put you in any kind of weird situation.
And I said that out loud, I don't want to put you in any kind of weird situation anymore.
I'll come and wave at you on my way back out and she just brightened so much she thought that was so wonderful and but the best part was when I did come back out and I waved at her like hey I'm leaving thank you so much um I call it church lady hands like she stretched out her arm fully and she made little grabby hands at me like oh baby and she just said hi and it was so sweet and so magical and there are just there are so many little moments like that you can have when you just gently, slightly put yourself in the perspective of the other person and you verbally say out loud how you're being considerate to them.
Like, I don't want to put you in a weird situation.
People tend to respond really well to things like that.
They're just, there's so many people skill things that we've kind of lost.
as a culture a little bit but anyway that's my both my wonderful story and my little life hack like if you if you not only put yourself into their shoes but verbally express to them you know what they're like how this is how I would like to treat you decently in this situation based on what your needs are because your needs are real even if you're just you know a service team member in a company in a job like you're a person who's trying to do your job and It's really nice.
There's so many ways, little ways you can compliment people that you don't know.
Like I went into a store that did not have safety pins.
If you want to just meet people for fun, just walk up to them and be like, hi, where can you think I could buy safety pins? And they'll be like, whoa.
And then they'll try to help you.
And it's hilarious.
And you, you can have the most interesting conversations with random people who are like, Oh my God, why, where would you buy safety pins? Cause it's like, you know, they need it, but you don't know where they're going to find it.
Um, that's just one of those little hacks.
I like to meet people.
So that's now that I've done it for real, I might just do it for fun and be like, I need to find safety pins.
And then we can have a real interaction.
It's so cute.
Um, I love observing humans.
