The wait is almost over as the Dallas Cowboys prepare to take the field, and this is where the 2026 season truly begins. While the headlines will focus on practices and highlights, the biggest…
Yeah, so these are the storylines that we want to talk about that could really shape the Cowboys' 2026 season, Mike.
So let's get into it.
The first one here, this is a big one, and that is, will Flanoy become Dak's next young weapon, Mike?
Man, this is going to be up to Brian Schottenheimer and how he wants to use Ryan Flanoy because we've seen a lot of pieces with this offense that gets used a little bit and then gets put on the shelf.
And you're hoping that Flanoy can come in and duplicate that success and they could go and and elevate his game to a next level.
And because now the time I think what has he been on the team now, this will be a third year.
So now it's really time for him to have a breakout year.
Yeah, I'm wondering this, Mike.
Do you think that we're going to see any of that in training camp? Do you think that we'll see that? You know, that he'll get the ball more, that Dak will feed him the ball more in camp? Do you think we're going to see that? Because I think we need to see that, and we need to see that in preseason.
Hopefully he plays in one of the two games.
Yeah, I think you will see that.
Ryan Flanoy, during his minicamp interviews, he said that he now has a voice in the wide receiver room.
He now has a voice in what plays go in the playbook.
So I think that Dak has to recognize that and feed him the ball and give him those reps and get that timing down.
Yeah.
Will he become Dak's next young weapon? So I love that, man, because like you said, that's a good point.
If he does become that, that gives you a little bit of breathing room as far as like, do you want to tag Pickens again? Or do you want to potentially accept one of these offers? And I'm sure he's going to get this next offseason.
He puts together another great season like this season, and the Cowboys can't really afford him or whatever you want.
You know, they'll be takers.
You know what I mean? And I think you'll be a little bit more comfortable in saying, okay, we'll take the picks.
We have Ryan Flanoy.
You know, let's go.
