Now, obviously, because there were a lot, a lot of good anglers fishing at Worsbrough, you could pick things up pretty quickly.

So I used to spend a lot of time there, you know, practicing, pleasure fishing, practicing, whatever you want to call it.

it early days of fishing were quite difficult at words but there were not many fish and what there were there were big eye breads or an odd bream or a great big roach but not not a lot of fish it were tough fishing to be honest but uh in 1970s there were one year when it was really really hot and uh A lot of bigger fish died off.

Obviously, they couldn't cope with how hot the water were and everything, but they spawned really well.

There were, you know, a big explosion of small fish in the reservoir that sort of grew on from that point.

I think the first person to win a match with him was a lad from Sheffield called Bob Walker.

He won probably one at first matches with skimmers and he caught little skimmers on a waggler and only had about seven or eight pound of these little skimmers.
