Insidious: Out of the Further takes the franchise somewhere darker, and after six movies, this one actually managed to disturb both of us. Amy found this entry heavier than the previous films and…
To me, this one's closer to part three as far as kind of like the weight and like the brutalness of it.
But to me, it's got it's a little even darker than that one and a little
heavier,
heavier.
I mean, it's scary.
It's more scary than four and five.
I still think three is the scariest.
But it's gone back to the original three, that format where it starts from the beginning.
And it's really good because they tell this new person's story using scares.
So they do it really well.
It doesn't feel like they're trying like heavy handed or anything like that.
It actually flows well with the story.
Great acting, again, that child actress.
I don't know where they're finding all these children to be in these movies that are so amazing.
Yeah, her daughter in this movie, you feel for her the whole time.
She's adorable, she's sweet.
Again, great acting and...
Oh, I just want to snatch her up and put her in like the brightest room ever.
And
I think that's why this one feels a little heavier.
Because in the previous ones, they kind of had a whole family that could kind of gather around and it's dealing with a whole family.
Whereas this is just a mother and her daughter.
Yeah.
And it's the mother that's going through it.
So she's dealing with that and she's breaking down and you're seeing the effects of that on the daughter.
