September brings a breath of fresh air as we move into spring in the Southern Hemisphere, but this isn't an invitation to rush into bigger goals, longer to-do lists or another productivity overhaul…
Now, there is something about September that feels like a breath of fresh air.
Like I can just see the flowers starting to bloom and magpies are coming out and all of the beautiful things that come with spring.
which is all about growth, movement, flexibility, vision, and your beginnings.
Think about a seed beginning to push through the soil, reaching towards the light.
The wood element is connected with the liver and gallbladder meridians and is associated with smooth flow of qi, planning, decision-making, and moving forward with purpose.
And I love this connection for September because spring isn't necessarily about suddenly decluttering the entire house or doing a severe detox, whether that's mental detox, diet detox, exercise detox.
You know, it might not be about deciding to, I'm going to run a marathon or clean every single cupboard in sight.
It's about creating the conditions for healthy change, transition and growth.
Get clear on where you're going and create the structures that allow the energy to move freely.
If you want to explore more around the wood element and the energy of spring in more depth, I'd head to podcast episode nine or 209, which I realize they both actually have the number nine in it.
And this is what I find really exciting about spring and September, because this theme feels really aligned for me personally right now.
This month feels like an invitation to clear the space and cleanse the air, to welcome new and fresh energy, to simplify, and then to slowly and intentionally organise what feels disorganised.
But not from a place of urgency or trying to get things perfect, but from a place of asking, what would make life feel easier? What needs to change that's not working? And perhaps more importantly, the question might be, what are the systems and structures in my life that are actually going to support me right now? Because sometimes before we move into what's next, we need to take a moment to stop, pause, reflect, and clear out the old, the stagnant, and what's no longer serving.
