But we should, just for the unanointed, right? We should talk a little bit about metal music because this is a really convoluted and, at least as far as modern music goes, kind of a dated history.

By most people's accounts, it was the late 60s and then like throughout the 70s and 80s when it really blew up.

And the funny thing here is there's a real debate actually between apparently between American metal listeners and British metal listeners, UK metal fans that I learned about where the American side seems to think that Led Zeppelin was the bigger original influence and the British side seems to think that Black Sabbath was.

But the real thing that I noticed, because the question we got about the metal bands, probably one stems from Jonas's personal love of metal music himself, obviously, but also the I do have a tendency to call things metal on the podcast when I'm referring to them essentially as like badass, because I don't always want to say that, you know, metal is just kind of like a more, I don't know, like family friendly way of saying that people get my point.

As I looked through the history of this genre, I was kind of having the inverse thought where I was like, this is as convoluted as a FromSoft game.

There's even differing opinions between the bands themselves a little bit and the communities.

It made me laugh because I just kept thinking, The way that this takes shape in a bunch of nonsensical but awesome ways oddly reminds me of reading Elden Ring lore.
